Our Prayer Shawl Ministry is currently on hiatus during the Coronavirus pandemic.
What is a prayer shawl? A prayer shawl is a soft, warm shawl, either knitted or crocheted, that is given as a reminder that you are loved by God and that our church family is lifting you up in prayer.
We meet to knit or crochet for those who have a need in our church family or in our community. Needs include such things like an illness, a loss, or a celebration like a marriage or a birth that prompts the shawl maker to begin.
Each shawl begins with prayers for the recipient. Petitions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl and when the shawl is completed, it’s blessed by the entire group and delivered to the recipient.
We meet weekly on Monday afternoons from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm in Fellowship Hall at our church from September through May. You don’t have to come weekly, just come when you can. From beginners to experiences knitters and crocheters, everyone is welcome!
