Youth United

Youth United brings together a number of churches from Janesville, Milton, Edgerton and Evansville for games, faith-building conversation and, of course, lots of food! It’s held the second Sunday of each month for kids grade 6th – 12th and rotates between church locations. See the website calendar or church bulletin for more details.

November’s Youth United was held here at the Evansville United Methodist Church. We had 30+ kids in attendance, several pastors and parents! Everyone had a great time playing an ice breaker game, devouring Subway Sandwiches and desserts (as only youth can do!), and generating a great list of activities they want their youth group to participate in, including a mix of social activities, service activities, and church activities.

Afterwards the youth spent time making cookies for ECHO to be distributed to families in need for Thanksgiving. Kids divided into two groups: Some made cookies (sugar, snickerdoodle, chocolate chip, oatmeal, gluten free), and others made festive bags to deliver the cookies in.

It was orchestrated chaos with the youth trying to make these cookies in our small kitchen. In the end cookies were baked, bags were beautifully decorated, and it seems everyone left with a smile on their face.
