April’s Youth United will be held next Sunday, April 28th from 12:30—3 pm at Cargill UMC in Janesville, where they’ll participate in a Crop Walk to “end hunger one step at a time.” A pizza lunch will be provided at 12:30 pm, registration for the walk begins at 1 pm and the walk starts at 1:30 pm. Youth United will walk as a group in the 5K (3.1 mile) route. You’re welcome to bring bottled water if desired and snacks will be provided after the walk. There is no cost to participate and no special permission slip is needed.
Anyone can walk as this is a community event. The CROP walk is open to all ages and abilities. We hope to see a good turn out from the Evansville United Methodist Church as this is an excellent connection with our Soles4Souls “walking on Holy Ground” theme that morning. Come join us!
What is a Crop Walk? CROP Walk is a national event, 50 years in the making. There are over 800 walks around the country with over 80,000 people participating each year. CROP Hunger Walks are interfaith hunger education and fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.
*Walkers are welcome to get donors/sponsors for the walk. These need to be collected before the walk and 25% of what is raised stays right in Rock County Please make checks payable to CWS/CROP.
